NFL Mini-Movie: The CURSE That's Haunted This Team for DECADES
It’s been almost 30 years since Art Modell broke the hearts of Browns fans and took his team out of Cleveland and headed to Baltimore. What’s even worse for Cleveland fans is having to see the old Browns franchise now called the Baltimore Ravens thrive over the past 3 decades, winning multiple super bowls while building a successful organization with a history of winning head coaches and low turnover rate in the front office. But for the Cleveland Browns franchise? Since 1999 the expansion team version of the Browns have started 32 different quarterbacks and have endured a winless season, countless heartbreaks, and just two playoff victories. Not to mention their most recent and controversial Quarterback acquisition with Deshaun Watson that just might be the biggest contract mistake in NFL history. But this isn’t a recent phenomenon—it’s a decades-long saga of misery, heartbreak, and disappointment to one of the most loyal fanbases in the NFL. So, with legendary coaches like Bill Belichick, Nick Saban, and Bill Cowher as former members of the Browns coaching staff, begs asking the uncomfortable question: are the Browns the most cursed team in NFL history? Let’s take a look at the Cleveland Browns organization and figure out why they have become so unlucky over the years.
