How to Wick a Single Coil
Wicking a single coil, whether for a single coil only RDA or a single coil built in a dual coil atomizer, is relatively easy - especially if you’ve learned how to wick a dual coil atomizer. There’s not too much difference between wicking a single coil and a dual coil. Since there is only one coil rather than two, of course, the amount of cotton required is halved.
The same principles for wicking a single coil will apply as it would with any other RDA. Be sure the cotton is fluffy. This will certainly help your wicking. In addition, be sure that there is no cotton underneath the coil. This allows air to travel underneath the coil and provide you better flavor. Also, your coil build will determine how tight you want your cotton. If you’re using a coil build such as a Fused Clapton, you may want to have the cotton just a bit tighter than usual to avoid any spitback. From our experience, tighter wicking will help with these types of coil builds.
