Cultural Hearths - Birthplaces of Civilization
Where did the world’s first civilizations begin? In this social studies course for 5th through 8th graders, students will explore cultural hearths, the regions where early civilizations developed and flourished. They will learn how geography played a role in the growth of these societies, what traits made them successful, and how they influenced the spread of ideas, technologies, and cultural practices.
