Dan Tapper has been building a software toolkit for artists that wish to work with open source space data in a variety of different artistic media. This first of two workshops bridges sound art and astronomy, leveraging the power of open-source space data. The workshop aims to empower participants to explore the multitude of open source space data through experimentation, allowing for data to be used as personalized artistic material.
Topics to be explored:
Finding Space Data: Discover how to access astronomical data available online.
Data Interpretation: How to read and understand the nuances of data.
Sonification of Data: How to convert solar data into sound, and how to use it in artistic practice.
