the trailhead to Verstovia, or "Arrowhead" as the locals call it, is walking distance from town and as far as i'm concerned is the biggest bang for your buck when considering time it takes to reach such a dramatic summit. As long as you're up for up for a stout 3353ft of vertical leg burning with a bit of scrambling and a few moments of exposure this iconic peak is a must for hikers visiting Sitka.
