A bit of story in case you're interested;
the blue dragon (who is actually red but had to match the color palate) is named Ma'arku, and he is married to a human woman named Amy. (She's the one standing in his hand.) They have a son named Jacob, their pride and joy, who is about 9 years old.

Ma'arku works closely with a group of dragons to hunt and eliminate threats to dragons and humans alike. One of these dragons is named Yakov. He and Ma'arku were very close friends once, but now are always a little tense around each other because Yakov had - and still has - a thing for Amy. While Amy and Yakov remain friends, she has made it clear she has no romantic feelings for him. That doesn't stop things from being a little awkward sometimes.

At the beginning of the story, Ma'arku is gone hunting for a mysterious new target with some of the other dragons, and Yakov decides to drop in on Amy and Jacob. He is concerned for their safety because this new threat has been sighted near their home. During his visit, a monstrous semi-dragon creature attacks Amy's home. During the attack, Yakov is forced to choose between saving Amy or saving Jacob. In the split second decision, Yakov saves Jacob because he knew that's what Amy would have chosen, even though it overwhelms him with guilt and remorse. He manages to get Jacob to safety, but Amy is killed.

When Ma'arku discovers what happened, he is enraged and heartbroken, and in his grief he blames Yakov and can't move on from his wife's death. Throughout the course of the story, he slowly comes to terms with her death and accepts it, choosing to be there for his son. He makes amends with Yakov, apologizing for his behavior, and moves on at last.

This map part shows Ma'arku finally moving on. Wow that is way too much writing my apologies. I can't be concise xD
