In this episode, I discuss the humid equatorial forest, also known as the tropical rainforest, and temperate forests, highlighting the similarities and differences between the two. I also describe the lives of the inhabitants of humid and temperate forests.
Remember!
The equatorial rainforest zone has consistently high air temperatures year-round, as well as abundant rainfall.
Rainforests occur in the equatorial zone and are interrupted only by the Andes Mountains in South America and the highlands of East Africa.
The existence of rainforests is threatened by logging and human activity.
Temperate climates experience four seasons. These conditions give rise to deciduous forests that shed their leaves in winter.
Deciduous forests border steppe and Mediterranean vegetation, as well as coniferous forests.
Most of Europe's deciduous forests have been cleared in the past. - Currently, Polish forests are dominated by coniferous trees. Only small fragments of the original forest that once covered Poland have survived.
