Woodworking health hazards are often overlooked - and one of the best woodworking safety tips I know is to look after your lungs. Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE) is an essential cog in your workshop, just as important (if not more so) then big fancy power tools and machines! Understanding the risks of sawdust and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC's) will help you to take the best steps you can to keep your risk of dangerous exposure as low as reasonably possible.
In this video I'm going to break down the three most common typs of dust masks/face masks I've seen throughout my own research and what I've found to be the pro's and con's of each. Looking at Filitering Face Piece's (FFP2 and FFP3), and Fully enclosed TH systems (Rutlands PAPR). Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is something we can probably all do better at, myself included! And in lieu of having dust extraction and dust collection, I've come up with the best work arounds that I can.
