Alliance Against Depression, European Commission Representation in Poland and the World Health Organisation Office in Poland have the pleasure to invite you a conference on mental health, building local alliances against depression and mental recovery in local communities.
Every year, around 40 million people in Europe suffer from depression. There is a close link between depression and suicidal behaviour. In the European Union alone, around 48,000 people die by suicide every year (compared to around 23,000 deaths in car accidents) and more than half of these suffer from depression.
Depression is a growing mental health challenge for Europe, Poland, Warsaw and smaller local communities. The conference "Warsaw Against Depression" aims to present good practices in support of mental health, including the method of local alliances against depression and the pooling of resources and capacities of mayors managing the districts of Warsaw in counteracting depression
