Shrove Tuesday 2025, We are back ! Its Sedgefield Ball Game day 2025
Blood Sweat and Beers are back on the menu for the annual Sedgefield Ball Game which took place this year on Tuesday 4th March 2025. The game got underway at the usual time of 1pm by passing the ball through the hoop in the ground three times before all hell broke loose and carnage erupted upon Sedgefield.
Blood was spilt, Beer in the gallons were drunk and sweat and tears were also on show. It was a great event with adults and kids getting involved with the 900 year old traditional ball game.
The ball found its way in to all the local pubs giving time for a few drinks to be sunk here and there.
The game was closed out close to the 4pm mark with one man going in to the history books as this years winner and getting the title of a local legend. This years winner Rob Adcock was the man of the moment after a tough day of battling, Well done to all involved, I’m sure there will be some sore bodies and heads tomorrow!
I hope you enjoyed the video, it was great seeing this spectacle of a historical event and already looking forward to next year.
