I made this video because it's something that is talked about, but there is usually shaming, labeling, and judgement attached to it. The reason I am speaking on this is because it's deeper than how it looks on the surface, but not many see that. As I stated in my video, inmates are not dumb. They can read people. They study officers. I wish we would take time to study people as much as they do. A lot of officers end up in relationships with inmates are because they are experiencing something that they don't get from others around them. At times, they are missing a feeling, but what is the root? Where did this come from? How long have you been feeling this way? When did it all start?
The reason why some officers get involved in these situations is because they don't feel seen or heard. Well, I see you. I want to hear you. Let's talk about it.
