Frozen emulator? Your app has stopped?
Ever have your emulator freeze only to find out that your app works great on a physical device? Don't panic, it may not be your code and really could be that you need to reset your virtual device and rebuild your android studio project. You might also have to update your android studio with the latest patches.
Also, ever get that "unfortunately your app has stopped" error on your physical device when testing an app? Well, I also show you that by just stopping your app and clearing its cache and data if it has that option may solve your issue.
