To get you off to a good start in Don't Starve Together, this short will give you important tips on food, combat, and preparation. We'll also cover the biggest mistakes beginners make and things you should always do to play well. And never forget to set up a small farm in the caves to have a reserve even in the summer.
The light green regions are generally very good. Besides the various resources you can gather (berries, grass, twigs, carrots, etc.), they tend to be very peaceful, without many dangers. There are also bees in some cases, which are great for collecting honey.
Regarding hounds (dogs or wolves), one of the best strategies is to look for something that can help you. Especially when they are numerous, their kiting is more difficult, and you need to look for creatures to help.
Always be prepared! The biggest beginner's mistake is precisely not preparing for the next season. In autumn, prepare for winter. In winter, prepare for spring, and in spring, prepare for summer. Bosses usually have drops that help you in the next season.
Extra Tips from the Video:
You can use the Moose/Goose feather to cool off instead of the endothermic bonfire in the summer.
Fams in the caves are protected from attacks by fire hounds that can burn crops, attacks from bosses like the Bearger, lightning, drought, and summer wildfire.
The Deerclops doesn't necessarily spawn at your base. In fact, it spawns (appears) near the player. If you take too long to run from your base, it may spawn there because of your delay. When you hear the Deerclops's cry, immediately run away from the base; it won't spawn there.
The same system applies to the Bearger. It spawns near the player, not at the base. To prevent the Bearger from spawning at your base, run away from it when you hear its cry.

I don't recommend destroying the pig house at the beginning of the game. If you're not careful, you might run out of pigs on the map, which can be a problem. Pigs respawn from the houses after a few days.
Use the nitre you get at the beginning of the game to build an endothermic bonfire early on. It can be a lifesaver when summer arrives and you forget to prepare.
