An elevator is the moving platform that carries passengers or freight from one floor of a building to another floor.
An elevator is made up of the following elements: the control panel, hoisting machinery, hoisting cable, guide rail, and traveling cable. In addition there is the counter weight, hoistway, rise, landing, and elevator pit.
