Honey Bee Time-lapse: A Thriving Hive
Conducting lifespan and spore (fungal pathogen Nosema apis) infectivity studies with honey bees (Apis mellifera). A custom 1 square-foot apiculture chamber was constructed out of aluminum, with temperature and humidity regulated at 30C and 75% using free software (Mycodo, link below). Illumination is from an infrared LED array. 1 frame was captured every 2 minutes to produce this 30 frame-per-second video.
