The mystery of the Etruscans was solved long ago, in the 19th century. But this remains unknown because they cannot fit the results into the familiar framework of history.
It is believed that the Etruscans were a population of Italy that existed there before the Romans. They left behind a huge number of monuments with inscriptions, and that Etruscan writing remains unsolved. But back in the first half of the 19th century, one of the Etruscan scholars, the Italian Sebastian Ciampi, traveled to Poland, learned Polish or Russian, and realized that he was beginning to understand Etruscan writing based on the Slavic language. After meeting and talking with Ciampi, A.D. Chertkov began studying Etruscan inscriptions deeply. In the mid-19th century, Professor Thaddeus Volansky in Poland began to decipher Etruscan inscriptions using Slavic. His work is preserved in the remarkable book "New Materials for the Ancient History of the Slavs in General and the Rus' Slavs before the Rurik Period in Particular, with a Brief Essay on the History of the Rus' before the Birth of Christ," published by Yegor Klassen. Moscow, 1854.
The Etruscan inscriptions are understandable, but people refuse to read them.
