June 12th — A Day of National Betrayal and Disgrace
On June 12, 1990, under the leadership of Boris Yeltsin, Chairman of the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR, the betrayal and destruction of the USSR began. Then, the Congress of People's Deputies of the RSFSR adopted the "Declaration of State Sovereignty," which effectively marked the loss of Russia's sovereignty.
The past years have shown that this day should be held in the same esteem
as June 22. What those who raised their hands against our Motherland, the USSR, failed to accomplish on June 22, 1941, was accomplished by those who raised their hands on June 12, 1990. By proclaiming the so-called "sovereignty of Russia," they renounced their own thousand-year history, their independence from all who had joined it for centuries and lived in the fraternal family of nations, which was the key to the strength and power of the USSR, the guarantor of the country's security. Those who raised their hands for the so-called "sovereignty of Russia"
set Russia and the former Soviet republics on a path that led to the dismemberment and plunder of our Soviet Motherland, to wars, to savagery, and to the decline of the economy, science, culture, and morality.
The consequences of the adoption of the "Declaration of State Sovereignty" have led to today's serious threats to
our country and to world peace.
June 12 is a day of sorrow, shame, and national betrayal
of Russia.
