BMW i3 is a very interesting electric car since there was an option to have a Range Extender added which would add range to your otherwise fully electric vehicle. This is a very cool idea, but unfortunately, this also means that the little generator would have to go through emissions in order to be compliant. In this video, I go through the process of starting the Range Extender Manually, how to enter emissions mode and explain what is the maintenance cycle that sometimes runs automatically on your BMW i3.
