• RME Digiface Dante and RME Digiface AVB - ...
The RME ADI-2 DAC is the latest high-end D/A converter and headphone amplifier from German pro audio specialists RME. In this video shot at Musikmesse 2018, RME's Head of Design Matthias Carstens gives us a run-through of this incredibly powerful device, including the new customisable remote control, a first for an RME device.
On the front panel you’ll find the 2x headphones outputs. The first is a 6.3mm connection, powered by what RME call an “extreme power” headphone output, which can handle even the most power-hungry / high-impedance headphones. The second connection is the new ”super low-noise” IEM output, a dedicated 3.5 mm output developed especially to meet the demands of listeners who prefer in-ear headphones.
Other front panel features include detailed frequency analysis and level information; controls for adjusting volume and EQ (for tuning your headphones and speakers), along with menu navigation and setup configuration, for selecting your inputs, ands adjusting features like cross-feed and filtering.
On the rear panel you’ll find the USB connection (for using the ADI-2 DAC with Windows, Mac and iOS devices), digital S/PDIF optical and coaxial connections (AES and ADAT compatible). You also have analogue connections in the form of balanced XLR, and unbalanced RCA / phono, for hooking up your HiFi speakers or studio monitors, allowing you to benefit from the ADI-2 DAC’s phenomenal sound quality when listening to your favourite set of speakers too.
