July Topwater on the Fly
Come along with me as I fly fish for smallmouth bass on top using a pucker lip fly that I have tied myself … it is deadly on smallmouth here in NW Wisconsin. Our water has been high for a few weeks and finally levels have dropped and the fish are where they should be … and looking up for a meal!
Floating along at about 2 miles/hour and casting a floating line with a popper on … well, that is about as good as it gets. When the drift and the fly line match up you can get some very long placements over some good water, as you can see from the video.
