The western movie genre had been mostly left for dead as of 1993. However that year, one powerful critically-acclaimed and commercially-successful western named “Tombstone” changed all that. Kurt Russell starred as the famous lawman Wyatt Earp and the movie follows his move to Tombstone, Arizona along with his brothers Virgil and Morgan played by Sam Elliott and Bill Paxton respectively. It wouldn’t be a western action movie if some trouble didn’t come down the line at some point and it surely does in the form of The Cowboys. However, fear not, for the Earps get some sorely needed help fighting the baddies from their legendary friend, Doc Holliday played by the late, great Val Kilmer. All of them end up in a war with The Cowboys but before that happens,“Tombstone” excels at setting up the locale and introducing us to several fascinating characters.
