"About the Threads of the Soul" - eco-activist Anastasia Zelenkova
What does a mathematician believe in? Where do spiritual fireflies fly? Eco-activist Anastasia Zelenkova about the inner guide and its assistants.
How to learn ecological thinking? Is it difficult to organize separate waste collection? What is the right way to fight for the environment?
Anastasia Zelenkova, regional coordinator of the global environmental campaign "Let's Do It!" (Krasnodar), has practical answers to these questions. Anastasia is a mathematician by education, but she decided to connect her life with the fight for the environment - a passion that has grown from a hobby into a life's work.
Anastasia also acts as a volunteer coordinator for the "Separate Collection" movement - a community of people who believe that the introduction of separate waste collection is essential for the development of a society of responsible production and consumption, for improving the state of the environment and the quality of human life.
Anastasia Zelenkova believes that personal example is the most convincing, and therefore sorts and recycles her household waste.
She is against excessive consumption, landfills and waste incineration plants. And for the introduction of separate waste collection in Russia and its recycling. She substantiates her principles with real examples from successful international practice of separate waste collection.
Anastasia organized several actions to collect and analyze waste on the banks of the Kuban River, as well as several experiments in separate collection among volunteers. The results of the analysis of the collected waste and its volumes will be used to substantiate the need to introduce separate collection at the state level.
