Always a warrior
In this powerful video, we see an old man in a wheelchair, still training with the karambit. Once an active fencer, Filipino Martial Arts instructor, and practitioner, he embodies the spirit of a true Renaissance man—a martial artist and a warrior.
He has survived three strokes and battled cancer, yet his warrior spirit remains unbroken. When I met this man and worked alongside him, I saw beyond the wheelchair and the years. I saw the fire in his eyes, the heart of a warrior still burning strong.
One day, I too shall be like this man. May I still have that fire inside and truly know that once a warrior...always a warrior.
