Campaign 22 Kilometers - Operation Red Stripes
Situation:
June 2019
NATO Forces in Afghanistan are conducting a large offensive campaign in the region in order to drive ISIS forces out of the area for good. The US Army's 7th Cavalry will be spearheading the entire campaign by conducting direct action raids and route security along a large expanse of terrain leading from Prozakhar Airbase to ANA Camp Branca, where they will eventually work with ANA forces to secure the MSR running through Ovallestan Valley.
Mission:
The US Air Force's 162nd Reconnaissance Squadron has located several overwatch and ambush positions set up by ISIS forces along the route leading from Prozakhar Airbase to Camp Branca, including two known supply depots. 7th Cavalry Ranger teams, with assistance from 2/B/1-7 "Viking" Platoon, will be conducting direct action raids to clear the ambush and overwatch points as well as secure intelligence for further analysis. Viking Platoon will be proceeding along the route and halting to provide a blocking force for the Rangers on their raids, as well as to provide force projection in towns along the route in order to gain HUMINT from civilians. Apollo will assist to set up temporary sandbag and concertina wire roadblocks and defenses. The 162nd is also providing 1x MQ-9 Reaper Operator for precision air strikes as needed.
