Here are a few extra adjectives to describe someone who is incredibly friendly:
Amiable (very friendly)
Accommodating (very flexible to make other people happy)
Agreeable (very pleasant to be around)

When we are talking about people in general, there is no need for “the.”
“I always try to please people ” would be more natural in this case.
However, if you were talking about a specific group of people, you might use “the.” It depends on the context.
For example, a civil servant would refer to their constituents as “the people”:
The mayor always tries to please the people.
The mayor always tries to please his constituents.
