President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. presides over the 20th National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Board Meeting at the State Dining Room in Malacañan Palace on August 28, 2024.
During the meeting, the President approves the Philippine Civil Service Modernization (PCSM) Project, an initiative aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the civil service by streamlining processes and enhancing public service delivery nationwide.
The NEDA Board also approves cost adjustments for the Metro Manila Priority Bridges Seismic Improvement Project (MMPBSIP) which seeks to reinforce the earthquake resilience of the capital's transport network by upgrading the Guadalupe and Lambingan Bridges.
Additionally, the Board extends the deadline for submitting proposals for the upgrade, expansion and management of Laguindingan International Airport.
In a significant institutional move, the Board also approves the inclusion of the Agriculture and Education Secretaries in the NEDA Board to better align the Administration’s priorities in agriculture, food security and education.
