To mark the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, Common Home TV is releasing a powerful new short documentary titled The Cost of Colour. Directed by Mona Hareesh and Mans Boli, the film offers a deeply human look at racism and resilience in Northern Ireland, spotlighting both the beauty of the people and the brokenness of a society in transition.
The video features candid interviews with community members and insights from Patrick Corrigan Amnesty International UK’s Northern Ireland Programme Director, who describes Belfast as “a wonderful and increasingly diverse city.” Yet, the film does not shy away from exposing the systemic and interpersonal racism still present.
