open water season. I'll do some reviews on the best baits that have been shot this year, plus I'll probably do some more ratings. But I would like to open this cycle with a review of the wonderful Maria Pop Queen popper. This is really a very cool popper. This is the original, perhaps - this is the best popper in my box. And my good friend gave it to me.
So, let's start the review with the technical
characteristics. The declared weight of the popper is 16 grams.
In practice, it turns out - 14 grams. Discrepancy of 2
gram is very strange, of course, for the original popper, but what is, that is. Now let's measure the popper. Declared 8 centimeters, in general, the manufacturer guessed right with this.
Popper has a simple shape - it is an elongated oval narrowed to the tail and slightly flattened in the eye area. In front of him, the oral cavity is made in the form of a deep recess, which allows you to perform loud squelching sounds characteristic of a popper.
The fittings are good enough, the hinges are strong, there is no need to glue anything here, there are also wind-up rings of the correct shape, the hooks are sharp. In fact, I didn't really trust such white hooks. But in practice, they showed themselves above all praise. That is, they are sharp, strong and least of all, as it turned out to be susceptible to corrosion. There are absolutely
no complaints about the fittings. By the way, the eyes are made quite realistically, these are 3d models. The popper
model - Pop Queen is indicated on the back of the case.
I have a simple coloring called RHP. The head is made in red, the main body is white. Initially, I was rather skeptical about this coloring. But in practice, papper worked tirelessly, catching pike in battalions.
In general, everything can be seen by the marks from the teeth on the body. The painting is quite good and strong, it is matte not glossy, so it holds well on the blank.
Maria Pop Queen has a very long cast, it just flies over the horizon.
In general, this is the longest-range popper in my box. Even throws many branded wobblers. A long-range casting system is made inside.
This is probably one of its most important advantages, that is, the radius of defeat of this popper is incredibly large.
The game of this popper is very clear - you can make loud bursts, detecting the popper, in addition, you can drive it with a snake, you can smoothly... Popper plays very well.
Pike is just going crazy from playing this popper. There are a lot of pike exits, the truth and mistakes happen, but this is generally characteristic of all surface baits.
Maria Pop Queen popper is quite bright, well visible. You can
see it even at dusk. When casting, the wobbler plunges into the water and is
almost in an upright position there, 99 percent of the wobbler's body is in the water,
only a small part sticks out above the water. Which allows
you to make loud squelching sounds on the wiring with sharp jerks.
Maria Pop Queen popper was the best of the surface baits this season. He brought me the largest number of pikes, in addition, he had caught the largest specimens pecking at surface baits.
