Today we are looking at your new Kontakt Instrument, TMT Power Tools Version 1
This is a Kontakt instrument built using pristinely recorded power tools, as well as non-power tools. Basically anything you might use for construction or general building.
This can be used for foley, but the main purpose of this instrument was to be able to play these tools like instruments in a musical setting.
In fact, the library was designed while working on a children's television show, but I'm now making it available for purchase to the public.
The instrument is broken up into 9 color-coded sample sections:
Jackhammers
Sledgehammers
Nailguns
Brushes
Drills
Hammers
Crowbars
Saws
Aside from the samples, and the recording techniques used to process them, there are intuitive Reverb and Delay Controls that have been coded with the power tools in mind. You can get some really crazy sounds using just these controls, but when applied subtly, you end up with a very playable instrument.
To keep this video short and sweet, let's play a drum using only this instrument. I am not a fan of watching Kontakt instrument demos that include additional sounds that you won't be getting with your purchase. Additionally, there are no other mixing plugins on this. It is entirely the sound of this instrument: how the samples have been recorded and processed along with the Reverb and Mix controls that have been coded into the plugin.
So here is Power Tools in action all on its own.
