Toothpick : Gemfan 3016 3 blades VS HQprop T63 6 blades
Simple video comparison between 3 blades propellers from Gemfan and 6 blades from HQprop, for 3 inches kwad / toothpick.
This is not an ultra detailed comparison (although I put the difference in vibration to the spectrograme and a cascade)
-- Conclusion --
Sound : My toothpick already makes barely noises so with 6 blades it's so cute it looks like a small UFO I find it great !
But for noise / vibration : Unfortunately the HQprop T63 resonates much more often and strongly resonates than the Gemfan 3016 (we can hear it in the video at 1min34s for example) which causes a little more motor heating even if I have put a big notch filter at ~ 460Hz (only for the 6 blades).
Reactivity : The HQprop T63 are 2.5 inches against 3 inches for Gemfan 3016. So we feel the half inch more in thrust and therefore the weight / power ratio is very different, the drone has more trouble reacting with these 6 blades! The Gemfan are very well cut for fat freestyle while the HQprop T63 are more for chilling as if it were cut for a micro-cinewhoop.
To sum up: It's nice to fly in 6 blades with a nice UFO sound, but even with well-tuned filters and pid, for a toothpick cut for freestyle, the three-bladed is perfect. It remains to be seen for a real comparison with other 6 blades in 3 inches.
