Yip Man's martial arts skills eventually became known to the Japanese general in charge of the military camp in Foshan. The general held a martial arts contest between Japanese soldiers and local villagers, and Yip Man successfully defeated the Japanese soldiers. His achievements caught the attention of higher-ranking Japanese figures, who then invited him to fight against the more highly trained Japanese soldiers.
Although the battle with the Japanese soldiers was extremely difficult, Yip Man successfully demonstrated extraordinary martial arts skills and earned the respect of many. Although he refused to cooperate with the Japanese, his reputation as a great martial artist grew. The film's story highlights Yip Man's dedication and fighting spirit to protect his people, as well as his martial arts skills, which ultimately inspired later generations.
