About the Exhibition:
Julie Blackmon: A Life in Frame focuses on the last decade of Springfield, MO-based photographer Julie Blackmon's work showing scenes depicting family, community, and landscape to evoke playful and critical examinations of the modern family, feminism, and other social and political issues.
To mark the occasion, Kansas City, MO-based musician Kevin Morby, whose recent studio albums include This is a Photograph (2022) and Sundowner (2020), joined the artist in conversation to discuss the shared themes in their work and the experience of working as an internationally-recognized artist based in the Midwest.
The conversation was moderated by Jon Hart, 90.9 The Bridge.
