Dilip Kumar, whose birth name was Muhammad Yusuf Khan, was a legendary Indian film actor. He was born on December 11, 1922 in Peshawar, British India (now Pakistan). He began his acting career in 1944 with the film "Jwar Bhata" and went on to become one of the most prominent actors in Hindi cinema. He was known for his versatility and natural acting style, and was often referred to as the "Tragedy King" and "First Khan" of Indian cinema.
Throughout his career, Dilip Kumar starred in many critically acclaimed films such as "Andaz," "Babul," "Devdas," "Madhumati," "Ram Aur Shyam," "Ganga Jamuna," "Mughal-e-Azam" and many more. He won many awards and honors throughout his career, including the Padma Bhushan in 1991, the Padma Vibhushan in 2015 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994.
He married Saira Bano in 1966 and has been married since then. He retired from acting in 1998 and since then he has been living a peaceful retired life.
Dilip Kumar is widely regarded as one of the greatest actors in the history of Indian cinema, and his performances continue to be admired and celebrated by audiences and critics alike. He passed away on 6th August 2020 at the age of 98.
