Spring is part of the FunGirls Project
FunGirls is a personal project showcasing multiple character concept artworks of teenage girls of different ethnicities or races, while communicating their engagement to one specific activity/role, cultural identity and/or beliefs.
Like Amazonia, Spring comes to life from an older sketch, c. year 2017. This piece's protagonist represents the average European late teen girl (18-21 years) who craves the excitement of contemporary new age world travelling. She surrounds herself with travel journals, guides and leaflets, hipster destinations, funky islands and pseudo-isolated paradises, 'secret' promised lands which have become, with time, not so secret anymore. She longs for [ as all others who share her trendy primal interest do ] freedom.
