By the late 1920s, to the early 1930s, transit ridership was starting to lack behind the growing number of private automobile and bus companies. Facing this loss in ridership, Trolley and Streetcar systems across North America came together to design a new streetcar to redefine the street railway experience for commuters, resulting in the PCC. In this short video, we'll take a look at the three generations of PCC Streetcars, ranging from the early pre-war PCC to the Dutch PCCs (among the last true PCCs built in the world).
