A chronological list of the SUSE Music videos we have created from 2013 to 2023.
Celebrating 10 years of the SUSEBand and music videos created
How did it all start…
SUSECON 2013 was fast approaching, and we needed to create some fun, high impact videos for it. Inspiration came from my kids watching the viral video ‘What does the Fox Say’ – it was bizarre and addictive!
Producing the first video (What's the Chameleon Say) became a family project - my oldest son Scott helped with the parody lyrics as well as singing and recording the music. My daughter and her dance friends, with Scott dressed as a chameleon in a pyjama costume, all performed in our backyard. The video was played before the opening keynote (Nov 12th) during SUSECON 2013 in Florida – it was a huge hit and went viral throughout the company and beyond.
That success has led to many more since, and Scott in the SUSE Chameleon costume has been used many more times too. The video, What Does the Chameleon Say, currently has over 439,000 views. The parody of Uptown Funk called Uptime Funk has garnered over 880,00 views on our YouTube channel and close to 2 million views on other social media sources.
The amazing SUSEBand was formed a few years later with core music talents; Jeff Price on drums, Roger Moore on guitar, Brent Griggs on guitar, Sean Rickerd on bass and honoured guest member Tony Oros as our vocalist, and now Andrew Gracey on bass. We have also had so many other amazingly talented guest singers such as Lisa Giacoletto, Shaun Barrowes, Sarah DeGraw and more.
There have been some great highlights throughout the ten years. One year we sponsored a lyric contest and produced several music videos from contributions to the music video contest that came from people outside of SUSE. Their prize was a free pass to SUSECON. SAP loved our music videos so much they asked if we could do a joint SUSE and SAP original music video (created by Roger Moore and Jeff Price) which was a big hit.
To celebrate our 10-year anniversary we’ve made a video that has snippets from all the music videos we have made between 2013 – 2023. Happy watching!
