The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR), also known as the "Toy Train," is a narrow-gauge railway in West Bengal, India. Completed in 1881, it runs from New Jalpaiguri to Darjeeling, spanning approximately 88 kilometers. The railway climbs from the plains of Siliguri to the hill station of Darjeeling, ascending over 2,000 meters.

Renowned for its engineering marvels, the DHR includes loops, zigzags, and steep gradients to navigate the challenging mountainous terrain. Key features include the Batasia Loop, a spiral track near Ghum, which is one of the highest railway stations in the world.

It offer a nostalgic journey through picturesque landscapes of tea gardens, forests, and panoramic views of the Himalayas. In 1999, UNESCO recognized the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway as a World Heritage Site, celebrating its unique cultural and historical significance.
