Coming out of high school Jayden Daniels came out of Cajon High School in San Bernardino, California. Jayden Daniels was rated as a 4-star quarterback in the class of 2019, and the #1 dual threat quarterback in the class of 2019.
In Jayden Daniels freshman season at Arizona State he completed 61% of his passes in 12 games and passed for 2,943 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. On the ground Jayden Daniels ran the ball 125 times for 355 yards and 3 touchdowns.
In Jayden Daniels sophomore season at Arizona State due to Covid he only played 4 games and he completed 58% of his passes, threw for 701 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions. On the ground Jayden Daniels ran the ball 33 times for 223 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns.
In Jayden Daniels junior season at Arizona State he played 13 games. In those 13 games he completed 65% of his passes and threw for 2,380 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. On the ground he ran the ball 138 times for 710 yards and 6 rushing touchdowns.
Before Jayden Daniels senior season he transferred to LSU. In his first season at LSU he completed 69% of his passes for 2,913 yards, 17 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions. On the ground he ran the ball 186 times for 885 yards and 11 touchdowns.
In Jayden Daniels super senior season due to Covid he completed 72.2% of his passes for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. On the ground he ran the ball 135 times for 1,134 yards.
Some crazy accomplishments of Jayden Daniels this season was that he was the first player ever to have passed for 350 yards and rushed for 200 yards in a game which he did against the Florida Gators. He had 606 total yards that game.
Jayden Daniels also achieved the highest passer rating through 12 games in college football history with a 208 passer rating.
Another crazy statistic is he is one of two players, with the other player being Johnny Manziel, in SEC history to pass for 3,500 yards and rush for 1,000 yards in a season.
The last thing that should make him the clear heisman is he is one of five players in SEC history to have 50 total touchdowns in a season. All of the others guys that achieved this won the heisman, with that being Joe Burrow a former LSU Tiger, Tim Tebow with the Florida Gators, Cam Newton with the Auburn Tigers, and Bryce Young with the Alabama Crimson Tide.
