Shovelhead Transmission Rotary Top Removal
In this video, this is part 2 of the 1981 Wide Glide Shovelhead rotary top transmission repair that was stuck in gear.
After removing the outer primary, clutch basket & the inner primary from the last video, I now have access to the shifter linkage. Also need to drain the oil, remove the oil bag and battery out of the way to access the top of this rotary transmission.
Upon diagnosis of the 40-year old rotary top transmission, I discovered the weld on the shaft assembly was toast. So it was not functioning as it's supposed to because it was not completely attached to the shaft. I now need to do more research on how to fix that part.
