Improve Yourself by Investing in Yourself
Many of us expect our organizations to invest in us - pay for our training and development to enhance our skills. There's nothing wrong with that. But what if your organization does not have such a policy in place or if nothing is being done about it in spite of constant reminders? That does not mean that you give up on improving yourself.
You can still enhance your skills, but you will have to do it on your own time. Don't shy away from investing in yourself - it is the best investment that you can make because the returns are extremely high - you end up becoming a better version of yourself.
However, many of us think twice or even thrice about enrolling in a course but we don't think much about spending the same amount of money on drinks or at a movie theatre. This is food for thought. Why is it that we are ready to pay for instant gratification that has little or no returns but we are unable to take out a penny for our own long term benefit?
It is time we changed our thought process.
