Green Protect Mosquito Trap - How it works
About the trap:
The Green Protect Mosquito Trap protects the home and garden from nuisance mosquitoes and midges, without the use of insecticide by utilising an innovative dual layered glue screen to capture gravid mosquitoes looking to lay their eggs after being attracted to the water vapours.
Directions of use:
1. Add water to the trap reservoir and fill to the max line.
Do not use distilled water. Add some grass cuttings to improve catch rates
2. Carefully open the packaging containing the glue screens
3. Using your thumb and index finger, hold the side of one of the screens and place it over the top of the trap reservoir. Ensure the shorter side which includes drainage is facing down into the trap
4. Attach the protective lid on top of the trap by pressing it into place
5. Position the trap where mosquitoes are present, avoiding areas where children and pets are present. For increased efficacy, position on the ground and remove other water sources
6. Regularly check the trap to see whether the water requires topping up. To do so, add the water directly through the glue screen
7. Replace the glue screen when full (approx. 150 insects)
How to replace the glue screen
1. Discard the water from the trap outdoors. Pour the water directly through the screen onto a flat, dry concrete surface so that it cannot pool. Do not pour into drains or in the toilet
2. Remove the lid and remove the used glue screen. Avoid touching the glue surface where possible. To remove the glue from skin or hair, you can use petroleum jelly or vegetable based oils to remove the residue
3. Discard the used glue screen in recycling bin or waste disposal bin
