Full Moon Rising - 1982
A simple multi-track composition, recorded on reel-to-reel stereo tape decks. to achieve more than two tracks, one "bounces" or transfers the first two tracks to the second deck, on one channel, then records a third track on the remaining channel. Any mistakes are unfixable. Recording to analog tape sometimes required many takes to get the first two tracks just right. In this piece is one glaring rhythm error on the first track, which I had to remember and record the subsequent tracks with the same error in timing. You can hear that mistake at about 2:32. This piece was recorded with a Roland SH-09 monophonic analog synthesizer, with no effects, one note at a time.
