How to Change the Background Color in Maya PLAYBLASTS and the 3D Viewport
This does NOT show up if you render your scene, but it WILL show up when you playblast. Use this trick to change the color of your 3D viewport background for a quick and dirty sky for your playblasts. It is super easy!
I also use this when I am animating if something is the same shade as the background. This is a quick way to change the background in Maya so you can see things better. Change the background in Maya's 3D viewport to be darker or lighter OR make a custom-colored background.
