So after 8 hours of playing with settings, multiple tools, and a struggle after losing sound, I bring you, from the original file in the game, Battlefield 1942's own Cinematic Intro that plays upon launch.
To start off with, I used HandBreak to convert the .bik file to an mp4.
After getting the OG into a format that was usable, I used an app called Dain do interlace the video from 25 fps to 50 fps. (at this point there was no stopping)
After getting us some 50 fps action I used DaVinci Resolve 15 to get me some audio back.
After having a really sexy smooth video, I used video2x, which utilizes Waifu2x caffe for up-scaling our beauty.
I then took her home with DaVinci to get 60fps for sexy play-ability on here.
There are things that can still be fiddled with, especially in transitions and smaller physical objects. i.e. the battleships constantly, the planes a bit.
