Simple Pendulum
A simple pendulum can be used to introduce many topics. Its length and period can tell us about basic measurements. Its oscillation can lead into simple harmonic oscillation. It can be compared to rotating rigid bodies, which can approximate pendulum swinging oscillations. With an added rod to show that the period is the same even when the string's pivot point is changed mid swing!
