Apparently PSY has run out of money already because his production company only today -- 5 years after posting this video -- decided to dispute this video as a copyright issue. Ironically, before I had disputed this claim successfully, as this is a parody of the original, and does not apply to the same copyright rules. But I guess poor little PSY needs all the money now and I can't play the degraded audio here anymore. So instead of listening to PSY's shitty song, you can listen to a royalty free-shitty song, courtesy of YouTube! It's an improvement on the original, in the end. Sorry you can't hear that shitty song on this YT video.
Using the same idea as my series of 1000 youtube uploads and downloads, this video has transcoded the same source material 1000 times.
However, rather than uploading and downloading over and over, I just wrote a program to do it for me. ;) This is the same results though!
This video: I intentionally used the highest quality possible settings, transcoding back and forth from MP4 (H.264) format to MP4 format. So this particular video features only MP4 artifacts (as opposed to other vids I've made that have two kinds of codec involved, thus two kinds of distortion). Audio is also compressed MP4, but again at 16-bit resolution.
Fascinating results! Enjoy.
