Free Audio to Text Using YouTube Closed Caption - Update
This is an update to a previous down and dirty audio to text converter option using YouTube closed captioning service. You can still download the file. This works for me at this point for English conversions and I haven't tested it for any other languages.
So since I rambled a bit on this one, here is the deal:
For any video you upload with speaking, click the EDIT button for the video from the Video Manager page. Then at the top click the Captions link. This will automatically show an English conversion that YouTube now does by default. Click on the English (automatic options) and it will open to the right of the video. Modify and correct the text as needed, then on the Actions drop down, download the file as an SBV and open in any text editor.
NOTE: I noticed the CC Captions did not have the English (automatic) available immediately for videos when they are first uploaded so it might either be A) Only available when someone requests your video as closed captioned, in which case just Turn On Closed Captioning as shown in the video. Or B) Just takes time to activate, which I will check on later.
I will probably clean this up to a nice, tidy tutorial as soon as I get another minute. :)
