Salt blocks are mostly made of salt and have very little mineral content, so they are more of a treat for goats than a mineral supplement. Feeding free choice loose minerals is a much better way to supplement minerals in your goats' diets.
There is, however, one mineral block that is good for goats, and that is the cobalt block. Cobalt blocks provide the cobalt, iodine, and b12 that goats need. Keep in mind though, cobalt blocks do not replace loose minerals and should be fed in addition to them.
