Robbery fail: abducted man shoots dead mugger while driving to ATM

A man called police to tell them he shot a mugger who had abducted him at gunpoint Friday in Columbus, Ohio.
Kenneth Owens said Larry N. Mausali took his wallet before forcing him into a vehicle with a gun. Mausali then tried driving him to an ATM to where he was going to force Owens to withdraw more money.
Owens pulled out a gun of his own and shot Mausali in the neck while they were driving near the intersection of North Hague and Sutton avenues in Hillpoint around 7:25 p.m.
Mausali was taken to the Mount Carmel West hospital where he died shortly after the shooting. Police are investigating whether Owens' decision to shoot was justified.
Mausali was previously charged with breaking and entering and carrying a concealed weapon in 2009.
