➡ Learn how to use a Kumihimo braiding disc.

➡ This tutorial will show you how to use a Kumihimo disc, a foam support that allows you to easily braid threads. Of Japanese origin, the term "Kumihimo" means braided rope, or joined threads. This disc has numerous notches; the starting position, the number of threads, and their movement allow you to vary the final result. In all cases, the secret lies in the tension of the threads!

➡ This technique can be done with cotton, Lurex, polyester, nylon, or even wool threads... Here you will learn how to make an 8-strand cord (4 groups of 2 threads). In our video, Noémie uses 4 colored 0.6mm nylon threads and 4 metallic 0.5mm threads. Dare to mix colors and effects for a vibrant, pastel, or even monochromatic look.

➡ Once the cord is finished, you can create many different DIY necklaces, bracelets, or anklets. By adding small charms or pendants, for example, you'll achieve a very successful "lucky charm" effect!

➡ You'll need approximately one meter of each thread to make a cord 45-50cm long (the standard length for a short necklace).

➡ Tools and supplies needed to make a cord identical to the one in the tutorial:
